Glasses hit tables
Billiards, shuffleboard
Talk of whiskey, beer, sex...

Laughter from behind
Causes heads to turn...
Causes skin to crawl...
Beered-up pals
celebrate victory...
I can't concentrate
(I came to find her)
You want a quarter?
For what?
Seconds endlessly tick
As I sit down
(only seat available)
'Hi, I'm...
Oh, you're a ninja,
A man of mystery'
(I turn to gag)
And stare at the door
Anticipating, wondering
Will you be here tonight?
Will I tell you how I feel?
Clock, door
Door, clock
I nurse my drink
As another oldie
Is sung by Val
(A duet with me?)

My turn to sing...
A special song for nobody there...
I want to sing my music
My heart for you...
But you are far away
And I'm alone
In a room full of people
