Joey Rodriguez - A Lie

This poem is to no one in particular, its just a poem I decided to write. I hope you can relate and enjoy.

How could you?
I feel back-stabbed.
You were the only one I'd turn to,
The only true friend I ever had.

I told you everything about me,
Even my own deep secrets.
But what you did to me,
It just left me speechless.

From the times that I've helped you,
You never returned the grace.
I asked you for your help and you became enraged,
You brought things up from the past to my face.

Everyone now looks at me different,
They all don't see me the same.
You told them everything about me,
Its you who I have to blame.

Everyone laughs and points,
I am the center of attention in everyone's eyes.
They know everything about me,
I wish this was all a lie.

Writing in the notebook,
That's all I can do.
I'm considered an outcast,
I'm considered a fool.

I'm in the hospital bed
Needles on one arm,
Its a lie that was unnecessary,
A lie taken too far.

With my other hand all I do is write,
With a tear rolling down my cheek.
My voice is too hoarse,
I can't even speak.

A lie blown out of proportion,
A lie can bring somebody down.
A lie can ruin someone's life,
Just look at me now.
