Jodilee Duke - empty mug

awake i lay behind closed doors
inside i shake with tears that pour

out the window my eyes do reach
hoping that the sky will teach

nothing in me seems to be
dried salt on my hands from the sea

i wonder while i'm in my head
do i coze my heart to feel dead

another day has passed me by
and still apart i am inside

but for now i must get up
to freshin my coffee in my cup
