the bottom drawer
is this where i should hide you?
deep down there
between all the empty shells
that once were hopes?
under the flattened balloons
and broken bird's wings
torn papers, unfinished paintings
stranded rafts and unspoken words.
is this really where you want to be?
me,
i'd like to put you up
on a pedestal
walk around your exhibited beauty
slide my hand down your marble spine
cool to the touch and smooth
and i'd keep you there
all for myself
cause there's no drawer big enough for this
