Jim Murphy gets egged during pro union speech

A politician who has been heckled by pro-independence voters and snubbed by Irn-Bru on a country-wide soapbox tour suffered more humiliation - when he was pelted with EGGS. Jim Murphy, the Labour MP for East Renfrewshire, is visiting "100 streets in 100 days" on behalf of the Better Together campaign ahead of the referendum. The Shadow Secretary for International Development ended up in a shouting contest with 'Yes' activists when he campaigned in Dundee's city centre on Wednesday. Earlier Irn Bru bosses distanced themselves from him because he is delivering his speeches from two of their crates, and regularly swigs from a bottle of ginger while in full flow.
