The
Morning
Eases a new day
Into consciousness
With the soothing
Sounds of a whisper
That nibbles on an
Earlobe and makes
You smile and stretch.

Rain in the daytime
Washes accomplishment
Down the drains of the
Mind and makes the desire
For ‘afternoon delights'
Awaken and seek a
Happy climax.

Late night rain turns
A bed partner into a
Dreamy reality or a
Dream into an arousing
Bed mate who satisfies
With the melody of
Each heartbeat.

Night rain for the
Healing and the aged
Takes us to the depths
Of sleep and jump-starts
The morning awakenings.

Drip, drop
Pour, pour
Drip, drop
Pour, pour

Listening to the rain
In the quiet is the
Best means of
A m p l i f y i n g
Messages from within
And understanding
What you hear before
Picking up a pad and pen
To begin a poem that
Will greet a rainbow
That heralds the sunshine
That illuminates what
Is right and good.

Rain in excess can
Wash more than
Your ‘troubles'
Away.
