Jim Bergin - Predator or Prey

It's now official:
If you're altricial,
You tend to stay at home at first.
But if precocial, you're quite soon social
And into running unrehearsed.

But once you're eyes and ears are opened,
Once your tiny legs in motion,
Al, you may have started late
But in a classic twist of fate
Precocial, though in herds may bunch,
Are destined to become your lunch.
