Jessica Jemima - What do we see?

He said to me
“I am blind
How much do I miss? ”
But how can one define sight
if they have eyes?
I stared

She said to me
“I don’t like yellow
it’s too bright and conspicuous
And I saw a man
in a yellow shirt
He stares”

They said to me
“There’s no gold here
And what if it was all black
Is there anything that we
wouldn’t see? ”
They stare

It said to me
“Nothing’s the same
And what if history disappeared
Would we look forward or try
to look back? ”
It stared

He said to me
“What has arrived?
Is it taking over
or is it change?
Everything we see is stealing
from what we don’t”
So why did he stare
-at me?
