Jerusalem backs Arab housing project

Jerusalem’s city council is to build more than 2,000 housing units along with schools new roads and parks for Arab residents.

The development will expand al Sawahira in southeast Jerusalem and will be built on a huge plot of land next to Israel’s West Bank separation barrier.

Critics say its is too little after longs years of neglect.
They cite other cramped neighborhoods with poor basic facilities and many narrow roads which are potholed and covered with rubbish.
