Description
No, it isn't maudling sentimentality
that dampens my eyes, or fills my
heart with pain, it's a vision of those
young men and boys, some who lied
about their age to fight for a king and
country on some god-forsaken land.
Australia being a colony then.
From a male population of 2.7 million
(women didn't vote) ,40,000 went to
war - one in ten died.
So this was the war to end all wars?
Not on your sweet Nellie, not while
there's profit to be made -
Ask Dick Cheney.
