Jeremy Williams - Regrets

I know I've always said
I don't believe in regrets
But I now realise
You were the best thing
That's happened to me yet
I know what we had
Only lasted a little while
But even if I just think of you
I can't help but smile
I'm not sure exactly what it is
That I'm trying to convey
I think you've affected me
In that very special way
Although I know it is unlikely
I just wanted to know
If you've ever the same?
Or was it just case
Of filling time and space
Until you found that person
From whom your heart has a special place?
