Jennifer K - Pretty?

I look in the mirror and I see a girl
with big green eyes
pink delicate lips
chopped brown hair
This girl is called pretty, the compliment is impersonal and superficial

I scratch away my reflection and take another look
I see hate, mistakes, lies, a monster
Dissapointment that runs through my veins spills out onto the glass
I've cleaned my mirror a million times
in hopes of an improved picture

No matter how streak free, there is still the shattered monster staring back.
If you knew me, you wouldn't call me pretty.
