Jennie Scheihing - Train Wreck

Description
On a steaming train
Billowing smoke
Chasing rain
Dancing around the mountaintop
With no intention to stop
Turn Around a mile back
A piece of my heart lays in your lap
A fragile part, that’s nothing grand
But it doesn’t match the heart in your hand
Oh why’d I choose to ride this train?
The one that would surely turn to pain
The seats were full but I still tried to sit
The ride that I will never forget
I wipe away tears but there’s no end in site
The doors are barred, so firm and tight
The mountain is steep, the road is long
But I do not regret getting on
All I can do is pray for a brake
I don’t know how much more I can take
I yell out frustrated for this to stop
I cannot do this- I want to get off
But no one will listen, I continue the ride
Barreling down the dangerous Cliffside
I only hope we finish soon
We get to the bottom, bathed by the moon
I wish that my heart will still be in your lap
In good enough condition for you to give back
