jenn davis - Wait

Description
Sitting in my hands.
It was so perfect.
My life was finally going that way I wanted it
But in a blink of an eye
It all came crashing down
In the matter of seconds I went from
Smiles and laughter
To uncontrollable tears,
As the world throw me my biggest fears.
I never wanted to go back,
Back to the way I used to be.
I was never happy that way
But this situation pushed me over the edge.
As I tightly closed my eyes to forget the self inflected pain
All I saw was a bright light turn instantly gray.
I didn’t know where I was
Or what’ve done
All I knew is that I just wanted it to be gone.
I knelt down on my knees to pray
Closed my eyes once more seeking an answer
Then I saw a shadow.
Confused and lost I begged it to give me an answer
In my pled for help I cried out
“PLEASE just take this pain from me
I can’t do this anymore”
In an instant I knew who the shadow belonged to
He simply told me
“Wait”
I had no idea what that meant
So I screamed back
“What are you talking about
I’ve waited every day of my life
You can’t keep making me wait”
To that he said
“Wait”
I opened my eyes extremely upset
And let one single tear roll down my cheek
As I laid my head down to go to sleep
I still may not fully understand
But I know I’m going to wait for something more then good-bye
I'm going to wait for something more then this life
