Jeffery Brunner - Nightmare

The room is cold,
darkness spreading like a wildfire
Sheets damp with ice cold sweat,
suffocating the very skin they swore to protect

And as the figure disappears,
as the shean of the knife fades,
the reality of a true nightmare is brought to life.

A world consumed by war,
ruled by greed,
and led by fear.

Starvation and poverty are the gifts of this world,
and the promises of its people.

A world of hate,
Moved by the suffering of its people,
swayed by the inbalance of good and evil,
stirred by the wickedness sworn to consume all souls

The world did not bring this upon itself.
No, its people swearing to protect it,
have soiled this once sacred ground.
