she will fail you
because you make her destroy you
same collapse
different mask
and knowing changes nothing

quivering with sick dread
and you scream

she is makeshift angel
she is gilded tomb
she is whatever mind makes her
whatever lie you concoct
out of need
out of lust
she is rust in your veins
she is dream drowned in sorrow
she has broken you
without lifting a finger
she is motionless and void
she is inescapable

you don't even know who you're talking about anymore
the faces shift like ghosts
glide out of room
leaving blood and scars
scattered heaps

fulfillment is found in anything unreal
