Jean Renwick - Forbidden Fruit
1 Views • Jun 11, 2014
Description
touch gently your cheeks
revealing their slight flush of colour
and an outline of your parted lips.
Your desire is not concealed from me
and I want to taste.
But you and I, well, it could be complicated.
Where do our beliefs really lie?
Who are we to be comfortable in this world
of trespasses and restraint? –
Trying for acceptance and some fruitful growth,
some strange consummation.
We all reflect the same within-ness,
want the same peace,
need the same clarity.
I run my finger along your jawbone.
You grasp my hand in protest but silent longing.
Our look exchanged speaks loudly of reconciled
thoughts and banished uncertainties.
We bite from the inner cherry –
The only way to live truly.
