Jean Evans - 'I Try'

This is a poem I felt appropriate to share to all the mothers and wives out there, though we appreciate our husbands and all they do for us, we as women, know mothers and wives are in a category of their own. Ladies, we do our best and can only pray that we can only get better each day. So, go ahead, give yourselves a pat on the back....

I get up in the morning and I start my day,
And it seems like sometimes everything falls apart right away.
But I Try.
I press on and fix what I can,
Pray that for the rest God will lend me a hand.
But I Try.
I get one off to work and two to school,
I feed the baby while my coffee cools.
I wash the dishes and fold the clothes,
I clean the table and off I go.
I pay the bills and go to the store,
I wipe the baby's tears when he falls to the floor.
I check for homework when the kids get home,
I have just enough time to get supper on.
I stop a fight and answer the phone when it rings,
Now, I know, I can't do everything.
But, I Try.
Dinners ready and my husband comes in,
I'm so happy to see he's made it home safe again.
While he watches tv. and the kids go play,
I'll get his coffee and try to put dinner dishes away.
Yes, I'll Try.
It's time for baths and time for bed,
I look over and see him rub his head,
He needs his shower and he needs his rest,
He's work hard today and He gave his best.
And I Try.
I want to be a good mom and wife,
It seems sometimes I can't do good enough to save my life.
But, I Try.
And to tell the truth, I'm not trying to complain,
Because there's nothing in my life I would want to change.
Except, to be better at what I do,
Because that's just how much I Love All of You,
And so, I TRY! ! ! !
