We live in those high-rise dives
All gravestone grey in the mid-May sky
Projected away from the low showhomes
The level lawns and private drives

Insomnia leads us to bunk on the nightbus
Our need to escape the unfriendly estate
And ghostly in motion through uniform suburbs
We ride through the swelling of daybreak
