Jaxie's Physical Therapy Session - video# 4

A Caring Place Humane Society was contacted to rescue a 4 year old male Great Dane scheduled for euthanasia in a Mississippi pound. We talked to the folks there and saw videos and it appeared that Jaxie had a bad case of hip dysplasia, very fixable. We transported Jaxie up north to Chicago and after his examination, the vet told us that Jaxie was hit by a car in his youth with 3 fractures to the hips. The condition was untreated, healed itself, deformed the hips, but after 3 years of neglect, messed up Jaxie's knees with one being worse than the other. Ironically, Jaxie's hips are ok, free of disease and arthritis. Jaxie was treated for Heartworm, had his first knee surgery, and now is in physical therapy.
