Javed Akhtar Given Additional Security Over His RSS-Taliban Remark

Security has been beefed up outside lyricist-writer Javed Akhtar’s residence after a Maharashtra BJP MLA demanded an apology from him, a police official told PTI. Akhtar recently compared the RSS with the Taliban. Kadam said no film of Javed Akhtar will be screened in India until he apologises with folded hands. On September 3, Akhtar had told NDTV that it is time for supporters of the VHP and the RSS to introspect. Shiv Sena has come to the defence of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
