Japan Successfully Launches New Navigation Satellite

The Michibiki-2 navigation satellite was launched into orbit from Japan’s Tanegashima Space Center on the morning of Thursday, June 1.
The Michibiki-2 is the second satellite of Japan’s Quasi-Zenith Satellite System, also know as QZSS. Once completed, the system will enhance the geolocation service offered by the US-owned GPS navigation network in Japan and across parts of Asia.
