Jane Tomlin - Inevitable Parting

We say goodbye like it’s nothing, but secretly we want to hold on.
When someone comes into your life they stay awhile and leave footprints on your heart.
Like you.
As long as there are memories of you, you will never be forgotten.
For memory is a way of holding onto the things we love, the things we are, the things we never want to lose.
Missing you gets easier everyday even though its one day further from the last time we saw each other, its one day closer to the next time we will.
We were blessed to have you in our lives and now we’re sad to say goodbye.
Though beneath the stars, above the cloud stands a peak.
There you will sit forever and a day watching as time flies by and keeping a careful eye on those you love below you as an angel would do for the lost souls on earth.
