Jane Meyer - My Love (school assignment 8th)

He is as black as the darkness in a windowless room,
With irises the color of polished gold.

He is as silent as a thief in the night,
As he stalks the shadows that play in the light.

He is a friend I can always depend on,
A friend that lightens my heart with his very presence.

He is an adopted member of my family,
A decision, for which I have no regrets.

He is a cat, known as Squeakers,
For his continuous stream of short meows.

He is the one most treasured in my life,
And whose face I kiss and caress each night.

He is my love, whom I shall never forget,
So I promise to love him for now and forever.
