I've seen in dreams the Darkling Deep

The black Amaranthine Abysm

And longed for that Oblivion

it's ethereal Aesthetics

and such sumptuous symmetry


-Ah- The glory of the Void

-Ah- The Bliss of the Abyss

What Belle Epoque of emptiness


Long since bereft of Babylon

of Old Baghdad and Baltimore

designer drugs and autumn-sun

The unholy love of a lust-filled whore

Worlds passed athwart the Stygian shore

Forth into Hadean Halls they 'd gone


I then woke and dreamed no more

But awake, was never more asleep
