Jan E Smith - My First Born (rest in peace)
1 Views • Oct 29, 2014
Description
Life's troubles seemed so very small.
To start my family, I would marry.
Soon my husband's child to carry.
The months went by as my belly grew.
Would my baby's eyes be brown or blue?
Then Christmas day I felt great pain.
The cause of discomfort was all too plain.
The baby whom I longed to hold
had died too soon and now was cold.
His eyes were shut and his skin so grey.
A porcelain doll on Christmas day.
In a bucket so white they placed him in.
I looked the last time at my youngest of kin.
Years have passed and the pain is small.
Was there a lesson to it all?
Thank you God for life's ups and downs.
For smiles are better if you know of frowns.
