There was a time when life was easy
Peaceful and serene
A time when I had no worries
As if it were a dream
My childhood days, now they're gone,
Never more to be
What lies ahead? The future's mine
I must wait and see
Sometimes it's hard, sometimes it's not,
Living day to day
Sometimes I steer a steady course
Sometimes I loose my way
With the help of loved ones all around
I'll make it through the years
Without that help I'll run aground
And drown in my own tears
God give me strength to live life through
I do the best I can
God give me love enough to share
And I'll live life like a man
