James Helm - Shooting Star

Star, shining bright in the sky,
Oh, if only I were able to fly.
To fly up into outer space,
To gaze up at the moon and with comets race.

To escape all the cares of the Earth,
Which I have been stuck with since birth.
To look at the planets far, far away,
Oh, I really wish I could stay.

To ride on a rocket like a silver horse,
To find the Mars Rover and change its course.
To laugh and sing and shout and play,
With aliens and astronauts all of the day.

Where life floats by without a care,
And somehow I'll survive with the absence of air.
Where I could get away from life's insults and jeers,
and the sun would melt away all of my fears.

When every time a day is done,
When I'm all tuckered out and had my fun.
I will sleep on a planet far from the sun,
With that my life would be grand!
