James Harradine - Jess' Poem

Our eyes meet,
And no longer do I feel weak,
Dear you are so sweet,
And a tear rolls down my cheek.
A tear of hope,
Oh how I have missed you,
How did I cope,
Without those eyes of blue?
Those beautiful eyes,
Loving me so,
Free from all lies,
Showing me where to go.
And fingers intertwined,
My heart pounds through my chest,
You’re always on my mind.
You’re the reason I never rest.
You see,
They say “absence makes the heart grow fonder”,
And true as that may be,
I don’t think I could have lasted any longer.


I wrote this for you,
My darling jess,
For you know it’s true,
Without you I’m a mess.
