The profit,
The loss,
Income.
How dull!

I sit in the classroom,
Awake,
Aware.
But my mind and my heart
Are anything but.
I focus my energy on poetry,
Not accounting.
My thoughts are
A thousand miles off,
In a happier,
More living
Place.

I'm sorry, professor-
You cannot compare
To the excitement
Of literary expression.
