James A. McMullen - Just A Leaf
2 Views • Nov 08, 2014
Description
more like me.
I feel wind, rain and storm; watch the grass and
flowers form.
I make shade where people rest, help the birds to
make their nest.
All the colors that you see are what the seasons do
to me.
I am born in early spring from a simple bud and stem.
I will show a picture green when nature's brush
covers me.
As the summer goes along; I will bend to nature's song.
I will see the summer glow open up a budding rose.
With the autumn I'll grow old and my green will turn to gold;
cooling winds that come and go will give me wrinkles
and a tarnished glow.
Then the winds have their way and in the end I'm
blown away.
