Jailed Benghazi suspect makes second court appearance

STORY: Under heightened security, the Libyan militia leader accused of being part of the deadly 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, was brought to a federal courthouse in Washington D.C. on Wednesday (July 2) for his second court appearance since his capture.

Ahmed Abu Khatallah, captured in Libya on June 15 by a U.S. military and FBI team, has been interrogated both before and after he was advised of his rights under U.S. law to remain silent, authorities said.

He was transferred over the weekend to a federal prison in Alexandria, Virginia, from the U.S. Navy ship where he had been held since his capture, the officials said.
