Jailbirds’ Dance

Gay inmates from the Quezon City jail male dormitory dance during the World Tuberculosis Awareness Day on Friday, March 25, 2022. A beauty contest for the gay inmates followed the event's theme of "Invest to end TB, save Lives". The dormitory in Barangay Kamuning houses 3,451 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). One in 20 (5.5 percent) inmates are either gay or bisexual and 3.8 percent have had sex with men before arriving at the facility.
