paying the price
a blank page staring back at me
what to say?
taking the hardest hits
never knowing what will happen
never knowing if they’ll take it all away

the wind has lost its warmth
like I have lost myself
to everyone, everyone
and everywhere I look
everywhere I turn
there’s nothing there
nothing that I love

I feel so incredibly powerless
I am always seen
I am black on white
I try to change my colors
try to blend in
but my heart always fights

the sky has lost its silver lining
like I have lost myself
to useless words, hateful words
everywhere I go
every place I see
there’s no one there
no one that I love

wandering the city streets
ten thousand people
and not one of them are like me
people say we’re all the same
but we’re so immensely different
some of us don’t know who to be

this world has lost its innocence
like I have lost myself
to empty space, empty space
everywhere I go
the air is filled with silence
there’s nothing there
nothing that I love

give me something I can love
I need to feel nd see and hear
something I can love
all I need is something
something I can love

now I look at you
and I am scared to find
there’s nothing that I love.
