I have scars
from where I forced you to hold me
I've gone so far
from everything that I know
I've tried so hard
to ignore all the things that you told me
that I should just let myself go

I have pain
deeper down than you could ever go
the disdain
is burning in my chest
there'd be no gain
from telling you how much I know
but I understand
it's all for the best
