my dear friend
my dear soul mate
my strength and source of joy
not my lover but just as great

like a brother, you cared for me
like a brother, you loved me
like a diary, you collected my thoughts
like a teacher, you guided me
and so I thank you for being you

You were there when I cried
You were there when I Laughed
You were the log that kept me afloat after the ship wreck
you were the safety net for my attempts to reach high into the sky
and you were there to pick up the pieces when I plunged to the ground
you were on my side despite the right and wrong
you were there....always

I must have done something right to deserve you
I have been blessed to have met you
I survived the twist of fate because of you
I grew stronger and wiser because of you

you will always be beautiful to me
you are the bestest of friend anyone could ask for
you have the biggest heart of all
sincere, honest, full of love is what defines you
do not let others change that or judge you otherwise

I will give my all to see you smile
I will do what ever it takes to keep you by my side
I will be there with you in your darkest and brightest hours
you can take refuge under me if the sky shall fall
you can step on me to cross the river of fears
I will be there for you the way you have been for me

the journey of life can be frightening
the paths ahead can be rocky and lonely
fate can be unforgiving and twisted
but you have always been and always will be by my side
selfish as I am, forgive me when I say
this isn't the end, keep walking
I want to be the last to see you when it all ends.
