Jack Rolph - Whiskey
5 Views • Jun 16, 2014
Description
groping the air for the friend I need.
I touch your neck, cold on my skin,
my lifeline as my spirit bleeds.
I reach for a glass, transparent
like the people on a subway train,
then I pour your amber whispers
and I drink away my pain.
As I wander in lonely silence
through the motions of my life,
you lift from me a storm cloud,
yet you cut me like a knife.
So as I lay here in my bedsit,
no love, no life, no light,
I’ll let your arms embrace me,
as I drift on into night.
