J&K MLA Engineer Rashid opposes Beef ban. Jammu and Kashmir High Court reinforced ban on sale of beef in the state. The High Court asked the state DGP to ensure a ban on sale of beef across the state after a PIL against beef sale was submitted in the high court. The PIL cited section 298 of the RPC. The law illegalising cow slaughter was enforced in the state in 1932. The PIL alleged that despite the law, beef sale is thriving across the state.
