J. Edgar - Movie Trailer: Hoover è stato direttore dell'FBI dalla sua fondazione nel 1935 alla morte nel 1972, un "regno" lunghissimo e controverso che ha portato le norme successive a fissare a 10 anni il mandato massimo per questa carica. Tra gli aspetti più controversi della sua vita, peraltro, una presunta omosessualità repressa, in aperto contrasto con i numerosi provvedimenti (anche omofobi) attuati durante la sua carriera. Hoover era infatti noto per utilizzare l'FBI al fine di attaccare gli attivisti e i dissidenti politici, raccogliendo fascicoli segreti sui leader politici per minare la loro credibilità spesso puntando sulla sfera sessuale.
