Busting my back making someone else rich
Knee deep in this limestone ditch
Digging my own grave
Earning bread that I can't save
Trading some bread for hopefully some more
Escape from the ditch no more
Likely than before
In it I am a cheap whore
She comes to me and is my fantasy
Worth threading the needle for
Butterlies be gone!
The battle seemingly won!
Shoulders free from the ditch at last at last!
Free to carry her and I
Until reality
And gravity my heart strike
Busting my back making someone else rich
Once again shoulders bearing
The cruel weight of life
And love lost in civil strife
