I feel but little sympathy
for those who will not even try
to battle disability
but are content to sit and cry.
About the things they cannot do
accentuate their helplessness
Inflict their miseries on you
indulging in sheer selfishness.
I much prefer the ones who say
I need some help but I can cope
if I can find a different way
The ones who will not give up hope.
of living independently
despite their disability.
