The east is red. The rising sun
heralds the dawning of the day
He brings fresh hope to everyone
as he travels along his way.

The east is red, the rising sun
has tinged with gold the mountain peaks.
His daily task has just begun
towards the rest he nightly seeks.

The east is red. The risen sun
climbs ever higher in the sky.
He shares his light with anyone
it is a gift you cannot buy.

The west is red the setting sun
his task complete goes to his bed
He is released when day is done.
The moon takes over in his stead.

Man would be lost without the light.
So he can see to work and play.
The silver moon controls the night
Her mighty consort rules the day.
