ivor .e hogg - Access Denied

My memory plays tricks on me.
Sometimes it won’t co-operate,
denies me access stubbornly.
Something I don’t appreciate.
There is a word I wish to use
but I cannot bring it to mind
My awkward brain will just refuse
to let me in so I may find.
The exact word I know. I know.
So I must use another word
that means nearly the same. Although
I really find it quite absurd
My R.A.M won’t let me see
the word store in my memory.
