Italy beats Germany 2-1

The Euro 2012 produced an upset as Italy beat tournament favorites Germany 2-1 to secure a place in the final.

German fans watching the match in Berlin were stunned into silence after Italy's winning goal.

Quite a different scene in Rome...

From the philosophical to the downright boastful... Italian fans let their opinions be known.

(SOUNDBITE) (Italian) GINEVRA BASOLI SAYING:

"Beautiful, beautiful. A little bit of a mess maybe. But if the economy was going like tonight's match there would be no more crisis."

(SOUNDBITE) (Italian) ITALIAN FAN, SAYING:

"The Germans had very high expectations, they expected to win against us, but they have to learn football from us. And how to cook."

Italy will play Spain in the final on June 1.
