Ismael Rodriguez - Dances with squirrels

I left the Pink Palace
the other day.
What
did I see...
Rocky the squirrel
and all her friends.
They were playing and
having lots of fun.
So I crossed
the invisible bridge.
It's a path that only goes
one way.
Then I sat beneath
the big pine tree.
It's so big that
it touches the sky.
A sky that was
bluer than any
sky I'd seen before.
I sat on the crimson throne
beneath the
big
big
pine tree.
Then watched as the squirrels
danced their life away.
They took of
their tails...
and whirled
them about.
When suddenly sounds
burst forth.
Like no sound, I've heard before.
So I jumped off the
crimson throne.
Spun around to see
what was causing
such a glorious ruckus.
And to my surprise
what did I see.
There were chipmunks
lined up in military precision.
They jumped up and down.
Then saluted each other.
The next thing to happen...
was hard to believe.
These chipmunks
well they started to sing.
That song that they sung
though I heard it before
was a song
I could not
remember.
For it was
none other than the forgotten tune.
Just as I thought,
I'd witnessed all
to see.
Raccoons in grass skirts.
Riding hornless unicorns.
Well they suddenly appeared.
They joined with
the chipmunks
in sweet harmony.
Then a great flock of birds
in the big pine tree.
They burst into the sky.
It was time
for their fun to begin.
They started to sing
an old melody.
My next surprise
was what
was happening to me.
My feet started tapping
in time with the beat
then with energy
I didn't know I had.
I began to dance
and sing along.
