Every time I wish
I close my eyes
I pray to whoever is up there
I blow the seeds off that dandelion
I keep my hands to my heart until it's 2: 23
then I slowly let go
Wishing...that I had enough time
that WE'VE had enough time

Every time I wish
I hope that you're wishing too
because there is power in numbers

Every time I wish
I cross my fingers
I cross them, hoping you are too
that you really want to share
those same three words
to someone other than the one
you're faithful to right now
maybe even
me

Every time I wish
I wonder why I bother
Because nothing could happen to a girl like me
with a guy like you
and if anything DID happen
it wouldn't be strong enough to last

Every time I wish
I try and quit the negativity
To find that place inside my soul
where everything is right
and everything wrong, evaporates
to make a place of pure bliss

That is the place I travel to
inside my weary mind
in my weakened body...
