Description

The soft glow of blue
In the horizon,
Lied
Had promised dusk

Her bow and broken arrows
Now lie a strewn to rust.

Fought a fight
That cannot continue
Under sun rays of light

With packs of
Shadows, hounds,
Wolves, all driven
By the night

Victory pulled away
Ripped quickly to shreds
Had prayed and hope for sun and day
But now she lies, and dead

Her lovely face,
Her sad eyes, still so dark and bright
Her raven hair and white, smooth skin
All still untouched by light

The creatures stand behind her
Watching, waiting for a sign
That she is still alive, but no,
Something they’ll never find.

Except for the red ruby spots
The contents of her life
Staining specks onto the sand
Mocked by the dim moonlight.

Dusk is far away.
