Isaac blows into New Orleans

This is what the famed Bourbon Street looks like now that Isaac has blown into New Orleans.

The few who braved the city's streets, struggled against Isaac's 80 mile-per-hour winds.

The category 1 hurricane downed several trees, littering streets as it moves slowly across the state.

It's pace is particularly worrying to Louisiana officials. Mayor of New Orleans Mitch Landrieu.

"Some storms move by very quickly and cause a lot of damage shortly other storms that seem to be less powerful stick around for a long time and they continue a pounding that can actually cause more damage. And, I believe we are beginning to see the effects of that across all of Louisiana."

Water and sewage systems in city are operating on backup power.

I'm just going to ask you to minimize the flushing of toilets."

Isaac isn't expected to pack the wallop that Katrina, a category 3 hurricane did. It could, however, unleash flooding in a region still struggling to recover from the costliest natural disaster in U.S. history.
