Is Walmart the New Amazon?
Description
Walmart has embraced technology to enhance its core business and compete with Amazon, by successfully implementing drone delivery services in partnership with DroneUp. The tech giant has experienced significant growth in its e-commerce business, with U.S. e-commerce sales reaching $53.4 billion in the most recent fiscal year, accounting for nearly 13% of its total U.S. sales. Walmart has successfully attracted younger and higher-income consumers with low prices and advanced e-commerce, and its online marketplace, advertising business, and automation initiatives have further contributed to its growth. Walmart's profitability is turning around, with earnings per share projected to reach a record high of $6.91 in fiscal 2025.
