Description

marooned in Paradise she lingers, with abated breath,
for someone—something! —to lessen the burden,
of a life lived long, cut far too short,
the vagaries of survival ever clear, silently crushing to her core.

gasping at the stagnant air of fate needing motion,
inhaling it in fitful starts,
the Siren slowly drowns in a sea of men—oh the irony!
claustrophobic on this island gem,
yet no one reaching to her being,
she’s wanting, desiring—just once more,
to caress the heat and strain of longing again.

as beautiful as the reverie of love expressed,
she drifts buoyantly on the winds of annum,
so effervescent in her sparkling way,
yet chastened, sacrificing her essence,
for the one too small to know why it is, why it hurts,
her lone brood’s paternal genesis passed away,
a memory only to pale with time,
she alone will educate on the simple truths of life and living.

the potency of woman, so real it lurks in her,
effortlessly she drives your sense of want,
forcing love, compelling pain,
obliquely defining why it all matters—why you must care!
a rare treat in a world of cynics and despair,
and shallowness, lust, and quick pleasure,
in a society sick of itself, rotting out.

thank god she is close, a harbinger of verve,
validity and sense of being thrust at one’s recesses,
she gives you reason to believe,
that there is meaning to this after all.
